  Facilities Provided at Chetana:

TRAINING AT CHETANA focuses on maximum independence with self-care, communication, syllabus and need-based training, life skills and, above all, the confidence to face the world and its challenges .

The programme for every individual student encompasses a range of need-based specialized training that is provided by our core team of dedicated medical, paramedical and special education professionals. We are also fortunate to have committed volunteers who work with the team to provide these services.

  Students at Chetana have the following facilities:  
  • Disabled-friendly Transportation to and from home.
  • Special Education – screening, identification, assessment, individual education programmes, evaluation.
  • Paediatric Physiotherapy and Sensory Integration Unit.
  • Speech Therapy inputs.
  • Training in self-care, language and communication, social behaviour and domestic skills and functional academics.
  • Vocational Skills training – Tailoring, Screen Printing, Hand block Printing, Cover Making.
  • Syllabus-based mainstream academics.
  • Teacher Student Ratio 1: 5 or 6.
  • Music, creative arts, dance, games, picnics, excursions, festivals.
  • Weekly visits by Paediatrician and Homeopath.
  • Referral to other specialists whenever required.
  • Specialized furniture, teaching aids and appliances.
  • Counselling and guidance for family members.
  • Almost 85 per cent of our beneficiaries are from lower income and lower-middle income families.
